1. Introduction

We’ve partnered with Metro Bank to provide our award-winning accounting software to their business customers.

How to register and manage your Clear Books account from the Metro Bank App

This partnership includes a direct bank feed that will automatically import a statement of your transactions from Metro Bank to your Clear Books account. This guide explains how to enable the direct Metro Bank feed.

You can also use our bank feed integration with Plaid to set up bank feeds for many UK banks, including Metro Bank, which you can learn about below.

2. Set Up in Metro Bank

To begin using the integration you will need to make a few updates in either your Metro Bank Online Banking account or within your Metro Bank Mobile App.

2.1 Set up in Metro Bank Online Banking

First click on the 'Accounting Products' option under the 'Products' heading in the panel on the left and click on the 'Set up a bank feed' option.

Select Clear Books as the provider and continue.

Read the information about what bank feeds are and when you and click on the 'Set up bank feed' button to continue.

Choose the accounts you would like to feed into Clear Books and continue.

Select whether you would like historic transactions imported and continue.

You will be prompted to log in to Clear Books after clicking on the next 'continue' button.

Once you are logged in you will be shown a menu which requires you to allow Clear Books to access your Metro Bank data

You will then be shown a success message in your Metro Bank Online Banking account.

2.2 Set up in Metro Bank Mobile App

First, navigate to the ‘Products & Services’ menu. Under the 'Business' section, select the option to ‘Set up a bank feed’. Read through the information about connecting your account and tap the 'Set up bank feed' button to continue.

Select Clear Books as the cloud accounting provider that you would like to set up the bank feed with.

Read the information about how the process works and tap 'continue'. Select the bank account(s) that you would like to feed into Clear Books.

You will then need to agree to share your transactions. You will be redirected to a Clear Books page to log in and to allow Clear Books to access your Metro Bank data.

You will then be greeted with the confirmations screen in the Metro Bank Mobile App.

3. Complete set up in your Clear Books account

Now that the Metro Bank feed is set up, it will import statements into Clear Books on the Money > Bank accounts page. Statements are updated with imported transactions on a daily basis.

You can now explain the imported statement by clicking on the Explain link beside the relevant imported statement

If you no longer want to use the Metro Bank direct bank feed, you can choose to disconnect the bank feed and stop importing transactions by heading to Tools > Integrations > Other integrations and click on the 'Disconnect app' button under the 'Metro Bank' integration.

5. Deleting the Feed in Metro Bank
