Bank accounts can be added on the Money > Bank accounts menu.



Every bank account type (except the Directors Loan Account and Loan account type) will appear on the Dashboard > Opening balances > Cash menu. The full list of bank account types that you can add are shown below:



The Dashboard > Opening balances > Cash menu will allow you to set an opening cash balance for the bank accounts you add. Just enter the balance in the Amount box and hit the Update button. If you are overdrawn or are in credit on a credit card, you can enter a negative balance.


The start date is based on the 1st reporting period, which can be edited on the Settings > Accounting > Periods menu.



If you have added a bank account in a different currency to your reporting currency, you will have to add both the balance in the reporting currency and the foreign currency and then hit the Update button to save the opening balances.
