If the default account codes in Clear Books do not go into enough detail for your business then new accounts can be added by following the steps in this guide.

Step 1.


Navigate to Settings > Accounting > Account codes menu and click on the Create new account code button.


Step 2.


Enter details of the new account code.


Account typeSelect which category the new account code belongs in.

Associated VAT rate: Select the VAT rate to be used with this account code.

Show in Purchase lists: Shows the account code when explaining a transaction that is a purchase.

Show in Sales lists: Shows the account code when explaining a transaction that is a sale.


Step 4.


Hit the Save new account button to complete.
